Welcome to the website of the famed St. James Chapel in Chicago and its stained
glass windows which have been called "the crown jewels of Chicago's architectural
treasures."
The chapel, within The Quigley Center of the Archdiocese of Chicago, is at the
corner of Rush and Pearson streets in downtown Chicago, near the "Magnificient Mile."
Celebrating the completion of the 14-year effort to save the treasured windows,
Friends of the Windows - a civic, multi-faith group dedicated to the chapel's
conservation - invites you to experience the beauty of the chapel.
- TOURS: Free docent-guided tours are available Saturday mornings from 9am to 11am. Tickets
or reservations are not required.
- CONCERTS: Join us for free one-hour classical programs by professional musicians on the
second saturday of each month at 2pm. "Second Saturday at Two" concerts are scheduled through
May 2010.
- VOLUNTEER: Become a docent and greet visitors from around world while enjoying many special
volunteer activities.
- GIVE: A Conservation Fund to help ensure the future of the masterpiece windows has been
established solely for that purpose. Checks may be made to Friends of the Windows (a 501(c)3
charitable organization for tax-purposes) and sent to the address below.
