St. James Chapel is located in the Quigley Center, home of the Offices of the Archdiocese of Chicago, located at the corner of Rush and Pearson Streets, approximately one block west of the Hancock Center.

Second Saturday Concert Series

Join us for our series of free concerts presented each month in the Saint James Chapel at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary.  "Second Saturday at Two" concerts are a gift to the community from the artists.  You and your friends are cordially invited to hear these fine programs — No tickets or reservations are needed. 

(While there are no specific admission charges, free-will offerings are gratefully accepted for the
Windows Conservancy Fund)

Chicago Harp Quartet

Since its formation in 2012, CHQ has presented innovative and charismatic performances on concert stages across the country. The Quartet is building bridges between traditional chamber music and the unique harp ensemble by commissioning and creating new works as well as transforming classics.   By combining the unique backgrounds of each member as extensively trained orchestral and chamber musicians, the CHQ brings an unprecedented level of ensemble skill to harp chamber music.

Noted pianist Mark Valenti performs this Saturday in a free concert of works by Chopin, Debussy and Prokofieff as part of Quigley Chapel's Second Saturday at Two series.

String Quartet, 
Members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra

Presents a program of string quartets by members of the Lyric Opera  Orchestra of Chicago:  Heather Wittels and Bing Grant, violins, Sunghee Choi, viola, and Calm Cook, cello, will perform Viktor Ullmann’s String Quartet No. 3 and Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s String Quartet No. 4, op. 20.

Antigoni Goni - classical guitar
Goni is a professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels,
and artist-in-residence for San Francisco Performances. She was Chairman of the Guitar Department at Juilliard Pre-College Division between 1995 and 2004, and she currently holds positions at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Music in London, splitting her time between both coasts of the United States, Brussels and Athens.

Three of Chicago's most popular musicians are bringing you a free concert of French Baroque music Saturday, May 9 at 2 pm in historic Quigley Chapel on Rush street at Pearson. These fine artists will perform  works by Chauvon, Marais, Leclair and others. Doors open for first-come seating at 1:30 and from 9 a.m. to 11 that morning there are free chapel tours.
