St. James Chapel is located in the Quigley Center, home of the Offices of the Archdiocese of Chicago, located at the corner of Rush and Pearson Streets, approximately one block west of the Hancock Center.

Second Saturday Concert Series

Join us for our series of free concerts presented each month in the Saint James Chapel at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary.  "Second Saturday at Two" concerts are a gift to the community from the artists.  You and your friends are cordially invited to hear these fine programs — No tickets or reservations are needed. 

(While there are no specific admission charges, free-will offerings are gratefully accepted for the
Windows Conservancy Fund)

David Moss, Viola
Violist Dave Moss, just back from his performance at the Lucerne Festival, will play a one-hour concert which will include two Bach solo works, a suite for viola by Max Reger and the Biber Passacaglia.

Ars Antigua
Jerry Fuller, Director

Mr. Fuller, in a return appearance, is presenting "The Wedding of Venice to the Sea", the history of the yearly ceremony in which The Doge would lead a flotilla of gondolas into the lagoon to perform a ritual nuptial between Venice and the sea...sealed by casting a jewel encrusted Papal ring into the waves of Venice Lagoon.

Musicians in the ensemble are William Bauer, Celina Casado – violins, Susan Rozendaal – viola, Stephanie Hunt – violoncello, Jerry Fuller – violone, Jeffrey Noonan - theorbo, baroque guitar. The program ,

Violinist Heather Wittels is a member of the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Associate Concertmaster of the Glimmerglass Festival Opera Orchestra.

Antigoni Goni - classical guitar
Goni is a professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels,
and artist-in-residence for San Francisco Performances. She was Chairman of the Guitar Department at Juilliard Pre-College Division between 1995 and 2004, and she currently holds positions at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Music in London, splitting her time between both coasts of the United States, Brussels and Athens.
