St. James Chapel is located in the Quigley Center, home of the Offices of the Archdiocese of Chicago, located at the corner of Rush and Pearson Streets, approximately one block west of the Hancock Center.

Second Saturday Concert Series

Join us for our series of free concerts presented each month in the Saint James Chapel at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary.  "Second Saturday at Two" concerts are a gift to the community from the artists.  You and your friends are cordially invited to hear these fine programs — No tickets or reservations are needed. 

(While there are no specific admission charges, free-will offerings are gratefully accepted for theWindows Conservancy Fund)

Sept . 12, 2015 @ 2pm
Caroline Pittman, flute, and Lawrence Axelrod, piano

To open its next season, Second Saturday at Two will present flutist Caroline Pittman and pianist/composer Lawrence Axelrod on Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 pm at St. James Chapel of the Quigley Pastoral Center. In addition to a piece by Mr. Axelrod, they will perform works by Rodrigo, Messiaen and Poulenc. Second Saturday at Two is a free concert series presented by Friends of the Windows, a non-sectarian volunteer group. The chapel is located at 835 N. Rush St. in Chicago.

Mark Valenti, piano

A Friends of the Windows concert favorite, pianist Mark Valenti, returns this year for a free one-hour performance Sat. Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Quigley Chapel on Rush St. at Pearson. Mr. Valenti will perform works by Haydn, Debussy and Prokofieff. No tickets are needed for these concerts and there are free docent tours of the historic Chapel from 9 to 11 a.m beforehand. Music of Pergolesi, Tartini, Corelli and more comes to you in Festa Romana, a free one-hour concert this Saturday at 2 p.m. in the magnificent setting of the Quigley Chapel on Rush Street at Pearson. Jerry Fuller and Ars Antiqua recreate the glorious post renaissance sounds of Rome in this Friends of the Windows Second Saturday at Two concert. No tickets are needed and free Chapel tours are from 9 to 11 a.m. that morning.
